Sales of speakers & phones for MP3 players & the like are growing
rapidly.  Who is buying them (demographics), and for speakers, where
in the home are they being used & what for (solitary, family or party
listening)?
I need a profile of who is driving this market in order to finalise
the design of a great new concept.

 Your question has been locked and unlocked by several researchers.
There is very little data out there (outside of expensive market
research reports) that touches on your specific questions concerning
headphones and speakers, specifically.

 I have found a few good profiles/characteristics of MP3 users, which
is the market that will be using the portable headphones!

 However, there are virtually no studies concerning "where people
locate speakers in their home and how they use them" - or studies
focused specifically on "who" buys headphones (though I assume most
MP3 users would buy them - making it the same demographic). I have
found one overview regarding the digital home entertainment market,
with some information on the appeal of wireless speakers as they
pertain to home entertainment systems.

 Aside from this "free" information, I have located some market
research reports on MP3 users and home entertainment system users
which cost in excess of $3,000.

 Are you interested in the general online resources I have located, or
would you also like links to the market research reports?

 Is there any other way you could exand this question to find out more
about your intended market?

Hi,
I've bought some of the relevant reports on MP3 players etc, but none
of them deal with add-on speakers.  So I've got all the data I need on
MP3 owner demographics, its specifically the attributes of the add-on
market that is missing.
Sorry to be so specific, but that's why I priced it so high.
