I'm not clear if you're talking about a guide to laboratory research
or scholarly research. Look at these resources, and perhaps that will
help you clarify your interests:

Bryn Mawr's page on Finding Information in Biology:
http://www.brynmawr.edu/library/guides/biotutorial.shtml

The University of Washington's Research 101 page:
http://www.lib.washington.edu/uwill/research101/

Maria Jackson's guide to Dissertations in molecular and
cellular biology:
http://www.mblab.gla.ac.uk/~maria/MCBG/Diss.html

The Horizon Press book, The Internet for Cell and Molecular
Biologists (2nd Edition):
http://www.horizonpress.com/hsp/books/icmb2.html

...and the corresponding website:
http://www.horizonpress.com/gateway/iftmb.html

Let me know what you think...

I'm just wondering where you stand on what's been provided
here. A Clarification would be helpful in letting me know.

A user's guide on this feature is on skermit-ga's site, here:

Hi there,

There are many techniques that is used in molecular biology...
putting all the information together for research is unrealistic.
Furthermore, there are new methods that are being invented everyday
for research.
My suggestion to you is to go to
  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi
And through their search engine run a search of the research topics
that you are interested. Download some papers and read the techniques
that they are using for their research. The, go to your local library
to learn more about those techniques to figure if those are helpful.
  Another helpful website would be
  http://www.protocol-online.org/
This website is aimed at scientist who need protocols for different
procedures. Even though it is not as complete as books, it is a good
place for starters.
Hope that this information is helpful to you.

                                    Yours truly,
