The light bulb of my desk lamp is about 50cm (roughly 20 inch) above
my desk. Now I feel dizzy and tired whenever I use this lamp to read
book but all fine under natural sun light. It seems to me that this is
caused by either too strong or too dim light, but I cannot tell which.
What is the recommended light bulb (in terms of watts or lumens) for
reading in my situation?

BTW: I have used Philips Natural Light 60W (680 lumens), 40W (400
lumens), Softwhite 25W, and they all cause dizziness.

Hi,

Do you read in the same position when natural light is available? Are
you at the same desk, or in the same chair?

You may be focusing in on the light, but it sounds like something else
is afoot. You may want to tell your Dr. about this during your next
checkup.

To webadept-ga:

Yes I do read at the same desk, on the same chair, with the same
position, and even the same book. When it is natural light, I do not
feel dizzy at all.

I also hope the you (or anyone else) can provide some answers that are
scientificly justified. Thanks.
