I have use of an apartment in France, but do not speak French. My
telephone line with France Telecom has voice mail. Could someone tell
me how I could program the voice mail on my new French telephone line
remotely from the US, including setting up a passcode, an answer
message, my name identification, and retrieve my messages remotely? Is
there somewhere where this all written down?

Is the main problem not being able to understand French?

Yes, not understanding spoken French is a problem. I can read French,
so if there were written instructions, I could figure out what to do.
The other problem is that I am not sure how to program the voice mail
when I am not in the apartment in Paris. I would like to program and
retrieve the messages while I am here in the US.
