I am looking for a score copy of 'The Red Back Book', a set of Scott
Joplin songs recorded on Capitol Records.
The closest knowledge I have to its existance is a note on the record sleeve -
"Scores and instrumental parts of 'The Red Back Book' are scheduled
for 1973 publication by Fanfare Press"
However, I have not been able to obtain information on either the book
itself, or if the publishers are still around.

I am after the possibility of purchasing the score, or at the very
least getting in contact with the publishers.

It appears that "The Red Back Book" score is available as free download here:
From this German site:

The file is in WinZip format. You'll need WinZip or similar utilities
such as the free StuffIt Expander to unpack the file.

The actual scores are in PDF format, so the Adobe Acrobat Reader is
required. If you don't have that, visit:

search strategy:
" The red back book" joplin scores
" The red back book * complete arrangements"

I hope this helps. If anything is unclear, please let me know via the

Also note that the same site first mentioned offers a JPG download.

It's a bit awkward, as each page of the score is a separate JPG image,
but the scan is a bit clearer than the PDF.

Great, thanks alot. While a physical copy of the score would be nice,
this is a great start. Thanks
