I have a computer problem. When I type in anything on any search
engine and then click "search web", the computer goes to the screen
saver. Everything else is working: email, address bar, searching
within a site. I have called the internet provider, computer
troubleshooting... I have shutdown and ran system restore, etc.
The answer for what I want is this: what do to do be able to type
anything in the search box and come up with a list of sites--- not go
to my screen saver.

There is no answer at this time.

Question: I assume your using google? If this is the case try using
other search engines => search.msn.com => hotbot.com => etc.

Question 2: Have you installed any new programs lately? Downloaded
anything off the internet, music, video's etc?

Question 3: Have u tried...a virus scan? If so what type?

I think these clarifications will help get you a solution to your
problem much faster, thanks!

Answer to Mark's comment:
No new downloads, yes to running Norton Virus scan.
As to comment on using another search engine: I find that will work.
When I go to google search--it reverts to screen saver after clicking.
I went to hotbot.com and typed in something to search ...it gave two
possible places to ask (jeeves & google) both of those came up with
sites and did not revert back to screen. Thanks but still puzzled...
