I've recently purchased a Sea & Sea SX1000 camera.

However, when underwater, it's almost impossible to see the lit
exposure guide; I mentioned this to the guy I bought it from, and he
said this was normal & I should just guess :-)

I'm really looking for a solution which will allow me to easily view
the built-in exposure meter, or a workaround so I don't have to guess.

Thanks!

Mark

Usually unless in shallow waters the exposure meter in an underwater
camera is of little use anyway. If you are using a flash, they come
with distance to flash guidelines. This article may be helpful:

Hi Debbi,
I appreciate your point, but (especially for wide angle shots) I'm
hoping to take some advantage of the ambient light.

I had good results with my old MMII by using the simple under-exposure
light on that, but am getting a lot of poorly-exposed photos with the
SX1000.

Yours,
Mark

Unfortunately, for the price of a See&Sea, you're going to have to
live without full features sucj as easy-to-read exposure meters.
Upgrading to a Nikonos system would solve your problem.
