Ebay is essentially a perfectly efficient marketplace where items sell
for their true value. As in most markets, some factors can influence
the price-- location, portability, seasonality, to name a few-- but
for maximum efficiency it is hard to beat.

Listing a car with pictures and a few restrictions cost me about $120
not including the Final Value Fee (based on selling price of the car).
One sold to a guy from Illinois, another to a fellow from South
Carolina. Both cars were basket cases that would have cost me money to
dispose of. Both sold for substantially more than the cost of listing.

As for the $9500 price, it will depend on your Beetle's trim level-- a
GL with manual transmission is several thousand less than a loaded GLS
TDI.

Hi; Ebay or Cars.com are both good places to advertise a vehicle for
sale. Both allow for pictures, descriptions, and contact info. Ebay is
an auction type website and usually brings a fair price if vehicle is
appropiately priced. Cars.com is more of an online classified add
where you can set your price just as if you were selling through your
local paper. As for setting the vehicle price check out KBB.com (Kelly
Blue Book) for pricing with options and mileage for vehicle. Hope this
helps.

My husband and I just sold a car by using AutoLocal:

http://autolocal.com

It took several months before we found a buyer, since the car was a
junker, but we did finally connect with someone who wanted our car,
and we were pleased with the deal.
