Having grown up only a mile or so from Coney Island, in Brooklyn, NY,
I couldn't resist a question about its sister attraction, Luna Park,
which opened on December 13, 1912.

A History of St Kilda?s Cinemas
The report was written by Peter A.D Fogarty for the The St Kilda
Historical Society, P.O Box 177 Balaclava, 3183. It mentions the
opening of Luna Park:
"...In 1906 St. Kilda?s first amusement park, "Dreamland" was opened
there, built by a travelling entertainer, E.S. Salambo. The venture
ran for one season only, however. Six years later, on December 13
1912, the present structure, Luna Park, was opened, having been built
for the J.D. Williams Amusement Company..."
