I am looking for "in person" meningitis support groups (of any kind) in
and around Los Angeles, CA. Closer to Pasadena and Altadena is
preferable, although please don't limit your search to those 2 cities.
Please include the details about each support group (as far as time
and location).
Please, no links to internet support groups.

Thank you,
RoDez

Are you referring to support groups that consist of members who have
lost a family member to meningitis? Since meningitis is not a chronic
condition, patients usually either recover, or pass away.

Or, do you have a family member who is suffering from the effects of
meningitis, such as neurological problems, learning disabilities,
visual impairment, etc.?

The more information you provide us with, the easier it may be to
locate a group for you.

Sincerely, Crabcakes

Thank you for the questions. I am looking for support groups for
SURVIVORS of meningitis....any kind of meningitis.

I personally am suffering from the effects of bacterial meningitis and
encephalitis. A support group for bacterial meningitis surviviors
would be my first choice, but I don't know if there is one down here.
Not many folks with bacterial meningitis survive I've found. A viral
meningitis survivor group would be okay too. Really any type of
survivor group will do.

A little more info that might or might not be helpful in your searching:
I am a 24 year old female, had meningitis 2 years ago (at age 22), and
am still recovering. The main after-effects I am facing at this point
are mostly neourological, neck pain/restriction related, as well
having less energy overall.

Please keep asking questions if need be. Thanks again, and good luck :)
