Question ID: 607449
Are there service providers that will remotely monitor the online
activities of employees? This would be a legal activity authorized by
the owner of the business to monitor their employees' computer usuage
with each employee having agreed to it under their employment
contract. Who are these service providers and what are their fees?
What independent comments are available about the quality and the
effectiveness of the services on discussion groups? The researcher to
earn the fee will identify the services providing us with links, will
find out pricing scheme and will provide several links and excerpts
from discussion groups. Our objective is to find an affordable service
with good reviews that will perform remote computer monitoring and
will provide email reports of inappropriate behaviour.

If there are ISPs that perform this service, they're sure
making themselves hard to find. I found only one that
advertised this service, and their website was in shambles,
with none of the links from the main page working.

What I did find suggested that "bandwidth prioritization"
software could be a better solution than software that
monitors employee usage, but both of these would be
installed on the client side. Bandwidth prioritization
lets you set a level of priority for each type of
application your company uses, allowing you to assign
a higher priority to programs that are business related.
It offers more of a "set it and forget it" solution than
monitoring software, which requires that reports be
generated, analyzed and acted upon.

Filtering software is yet another option, allowing
you to block certain sites and programs from being
used.

Let me know where this takes you...

There are various software packages for monitoring employee computer
usuage. We want to avoid not only the issues involved with ownership
but would like to find a service that not only deploys the monitoring
software but analyzes the results and reports thier findings. An ASP
model for employee computer usuage monitoring.

I didn't post a formal answer, so your question is still open
for other researchers to answer. If it remains unanswered, no
charges will be incurred by you except the 50 cent listing fee.
