I'm looking for a set of soup bowls made especially for serving
vichyssoise. Such a set would include two bowls per setting, a smaller
one for the soup and a larger one to contain the crushed ice into
which the soup bowl would be nested. (I envision the larger bottom
bowl to be of stainless steel.) My searches of the most prominent
kitchen supply companies have not yet yielded anything of the kind. |

Pink, the bowls shown on Ebay come close, though I'd like to find
something a bit more formal. Hence the notion of a stainless steel
bottom bowl. I'm sure I've seen such a set in a restaurant, though my
searches of restaurant supply houses have yielded nothing yet of this
sort.

Pink, the ceramic sets you've pointed me to are a bit too rustic for my purposes.

Bobbie, that IS gorgeous and a steal at $769/setting! :)
Pink and Bobbie, this comes closest to what I envision:

though, Pink, your reference to your aunt's gazpacho bowls is even
closer. I shall not be deterred!

Bobbie, those caviar/shrimp servers could serve my purpose, though the
top bowl is awfully small. I just know that what I seek is out there
somewhere!
