Question ID: 608033
Where can I find listings of foreclosed homes in New York for Nassau
and Suffolk counties as well as the burrows of Brookly and Queens? Not
counting foreclosure listing services in which you pay to see the
foreclosure list, I am looking to find the actual public notices or
forclosre and auction. Thanks
Tom

This is a subscription service:

FORECLOSURE UPDATE
http://www.foreclosure-ny.com/introduction.htm
EXAMPLE PAGE:https://www.newyorkforeclosures.com/nassau.htm
HOME PAGE: https://www.newyorkforeclosures.com/

The subscription rate for the 2 counties you want is:

Nassau $200/year - 50 issues
Suffolk $210/year - 50 issues

Those are compiled from the actual court records.

If _you_ are not going to go compile the records, you'll have to pay a
service to do it for you. As an example, the link below is as close as
it gets to finding foreclosures for Nassau County:
http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/mynassauproperty/property_search.jsp

Without leaving the comfort of your living room, and for free, you can try this:

You first want to determine if N. and S. counties are trustee states
or mortgage states. In a trustee state, the county government will
administer the foreclosure process. In a traditional mortgage state,
the legal system administers foreclosures.

Either way, foreclosures are listed, by mandate, in public newspapers.
They will include the property address and the proposed date of the
auction.

Yes, there are public resources to find properties coming up for
auction. Alas, I was not able to find the exact url that I wanted to
give you to accomplish this. The site for Nassau is
http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/, and the site for Suffolk is
http://www.co.suffolk.ny.us/webtemp3.cfm?dept=11&id=225. I tried to
call - which you often have to do - to find out the exact address to
go to for their respective listings. They did not anwer and my guess
is because of the holday they may not be too aggresively answering the
phone.

You do not need to pay a service for this listing. Contact the county
info lines and they can gui9de you.

Levelhead.
