Here is the Deal... I don't have a car and i need one pretty bad. I
have money, or at least enough to make a nice downpayment and to pay
the bills, that i am not worried about.

here is the problem I am running into.

I am 22 years old. For the last 4 years I have worked for myself. I
now live in an apartment that has all of the utilties prepaid, for
easier convienince. My credit score is below 530, mainly because I
started a company 4 years ago and sacrificed it for the better good of
the company (worked).

However, I quit my job earlier this year. The reason I need a car is
because I start a new job Friday, and I don't have a car and no means
of normal trasnportation. I am going to have to rent a car (remember
i'm 22) just to have a way to work for the first week.

Now, I am a seller on ebay, and make about $3-5k a month doing that,
however it's not a "regular job" so it doesn't count.

I guess what I need to ask is.. what can I do? I am in Little Rock,
AR. What I need is someone that will take about $1,000, I can give
them my lease at my apartment and my Cable bill here, and let me pay
on a month to month basis.

Whatever I get, I will get rid of in the next couple of months once I
have a steady "proof" of income in the next coming months to something
better, but I am going to have to spend over $500 for a car next
week.. I refuse to have a 2,000 a month Car note

This is extremely important to me, and the sooner the better.

Even better, if you can find someone in this area that does car rental
to someone my age at a reasonable price, but that might be asking too
much.

I will pay whatever is necessary to get this informaition, as my new
job pays about $70k a year and I am not going to not go because I
don't have a car.

Can't you simply pay cash for an older model used car?

Hi,

My room-mate just bought a van in southern California for 1000. Nice
one too. Perhaps you should look a little more closely at the used car
options. People are selling large vans and trucks cheap right now.

The other option is to come at it from the other side. Get a hotel
room Monday night through Thursday Night a few blocks from your job.
That's four nights a week, and two taxi-cab rides.

Another option is to explain to your boss the current situation and
ask if the company has a leasing partner you can work with to get a
vehicle, many companies do.

1. and this kinda answers both questions.. my job requires me to visit
different compaines in the field.. i.e traveling, so not only do I
NEED a car, I need something reliable.

I just rented a car today, for 10 days, but I can't keep it up.

I could spend the 2k to get a used car or something along thoose
lines, ,but because of my job, I can't afford to have the car break
down or to be servied all of the time
