I live in the City of Westlake Village, CA, which borders on the Ventura and Los
Angeles County lines.

What's the most definitive source to use to
prove that I am actually in Los Angeles county and not Ventura county?

My ZIP code is 91361 and I reside on the Los Angeles County portion of
Westlake Village.

Give this a try and let me know if it does the trick:

http://lavote.net/locator/
Address Information locator will find polling place and sample ballot
for an address in Los Angeles County

P.S. Census maps show La Venta Road as the dividing street between counties.

the url you sent me may help me; since I'm rying to prove my County of
residence to sportsmansguide.com so I can get small caliber handgun
ammunition shipped to me. I've done this via other retailers with no
problem; I think the problem is that ZIP code 91361 may have both
Ventura and Los Angeles County addresses in
it, as Westlake Village is right on the border; and the
sportsmansguide says it cannot ship to Ventura County addresses...the
registrar recorder site should help a lot though...I'll see tomorrow
morning when I call customer service..Thanks for some forward
progress!

Who are you trying to prove it to?
If you are a rentor...ask your landlord to provide you with a copy of
the municipal tax bill for the property you live in.
If you are an owner than you should already have that.

If you own the property you should have title insurance that shows the
legal description of the property. Otherwise get it from your
landlord, from a title company or the county recorder, legal
description is public information.
