Hello.

Considered one of the oldest known dental implants, anthropologists
discovered a single wrought iron implant in a skull found in an
ancient cemetery in Chantambre, France.

There's a good picture of the wrought iron implant in the article,
"The Physiologic Basis of Implantology," from Marquette University
dental school. The article is in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat reader
required):
http://www.dental.mu.edu/class/junior/coco534-4.pdf

Smaller pictures and a history of this dental implant are available in
this article, "Ancient Roman dentists were advanced but cruel," by
Gloria Chang, January 9, 1998:

search strategy: france, wrought iron, dental implant

I hope this helps. If this isn't what you were looking for, please
request clarification.

I'm not sure why that second link didn't show up as a hyperlink. I'll try again:

The other article is in PDF format. Extracting individual graphics
from a PDF file may require special software, such as the full Adobe
Acrobat reader or a third-party utility. See this web page from

I'm not sure why Google Answers can't display those links as
hyperlinks, but just type or paste them into the location bar of your
browser:
