I'm looking for RESEARCH to show that doing Bikram yoga (AKA Hot Box
Yoga, AKA Hot Yoga) is dangerous.
I'd be happy to here any way that it's dangerous -- my guess is that
if there's research out there, it'll suggest that there's an increased
rate of injury due to over-stretching one's muscles.

Thanks You

This Hot Yoga, Bikram yoga or similar type is inappropriate and
difficult to justify version of Indian ancient Science of Yoga. In
fact it can not be called as Yoga as per Indian Science.

Many medical experts all over the world have raised concern over the
excess strain exerted on muscles in Hot environment (temperatures
about 105 deg. F). In this environment there is always a danger of
muscle or ligament stretched beyond biological limit and may get

Couldn't find any studies done, but here what a doctor says:

Bikram Yoga Health Fears

And another physician:
" In a recent New York Times article (March 30, 2004) Dr. Robert
Gotlin, director of orthopedic and sports rehabilitation at the Beth
Israel Medical Center in Manhattan stated the dangers that hot yoga
poses.

In very hot temperatures our bodies stretch and bend further than they
normally can. Some experts see this stretching as a benefit, but
Gotlin said stretching a muscle too far beyond its resting length will
cause damage. Gotlin said he sees about five yoga-related injuries per
week.
Yoga is about “listening to your body,” said Cooney. When
people don’t listen to their bodies they push themselves too far
and cause injuries she said."
