How many cities and towns in each state provide adult education classes?

Alan.

"Adult education" is such a loosely-defined concept, that its hard to
know how to count-up who has it, and who doesn't.

It's probably possible to tally up the number of towns in the US that
offer continuing education classes at community colleges and other
university-type settings.

Would that sort of information meet your needs, even if it wouldn't
include, say, adult-ed classes at the local YMCA, or at the local high
school?

Let me know what you think.

Good points.

I was thinking about adult ed classes sponsored and organized by an
individual city/town. They send out a catalog of classes to town
residents. And the residents respond by phone to sign up for a
class(es).

The kinds of classes include photography, drawing, cooking, etc.
classes which do not normally provide credits toward a degree or
diploma.

Alan,

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm still on the case here, but I wanted to ask for some additional
information from you.

Have a look at this link:

http://yellowpages.superpages.com/listings.jsp?SRC=&STYPE=S&PG=L&R=N&L=&C=adult%20education&N=&T=&S=&search=Find+It

which identifies over 65,000 adult education programs in the US.

Is this useful to you at all?

Note that the listings are subdivided by major categories -- e.g.
10,856 "Career and Workplace" listings.

Also, you can create a similar list for any given city, simply by
entering the city and state name in the search box near the top of the
page.

Let me know if that's helpful, at all.

Thanks,

paf
