I want to know what material and labor escallation costs would be to take a 1987 built house and compare the same house constructed in 2005. This would provide and index of the difference between those years. I have found a chart in the National Association of Home Builders showing square foot costs from 1992 to 2004. |

Engineering News-Record magazine, Dodge Construction Reports, R. S. Means are all sites and print sources for just the question asked. There are regional variations in price that sometimes affect the outcome of the analysis. Also, specialty features of construction, or the absense of them, also can affect the result. This is the kind of question that project engineers in construction management companies love. Also, claims consultants in construction are asked this kind of question often. They love this stuff too. Some of these sources have data back many decades. |
