I would like to get the traffic history of a successful site from day
1 to 1000000 users (per month) or above.

Clarification of Question by dlgo-ga on 25 Dec 2005 02:54 PST
The reason I am asking this it?s because I am working on a venture and
I want to estimate the traffic I will get in the next 2.5 years.
I know that it?s impossible to predict - I know this is just a guess
but I want to have a logical guess.
I would like to get a list like this:

Month 1 - 0 visitors (Monthly)
Month 2 - 1000.
Month 3 - 1500
Month 4 ? 5000
Month 5 ? 10000
Month 6 ? 12000
Month 7 ? 15000
Month 8 ? 20000
Moth 9 ? 30000
Month 10 - 60000
Month 11 - 120000

One of the best places to get traffic history is http://www.alexa.com.
They have traffic histories for almost every site. It's limited to the
last two years, but that means you simply have to pick a successful
site that began in the last two years.

When you select "Traffic Ranking", just below the graph there is a
tool that will allow you to compare web sites against each other. Make
sure to view "Page Loads"

They also have a "Wayback Machine" that lets you view sites as they
existed in the past (you choose how far back to view the site). That's
at http://www.archive.org/web/web.php.

Be warned, the data from Alexa is approximate and based on the
activity of Alexa Toolbar users.

Did you need a more comprehensive report than that, or are you just
watching for general trends?

Oh yeah, Alexa is also only relative to other sites. They don't give
you the actual page loads or anything.

You can use another free tool located at http://www.stats1.com/ to see
the current traffic of a site. It's delayed a few months, but it's
very accurate.

I'll see if I can find anything better.

There is NONE website that gives you REAL traffic information from any
website you want.

The most realiable traffic information you will find are from reports at:
http://www.netratings.com/news.jsp?section=dat_to&country=us
http://www.hitwise.com/info/us-news-media-report.php
http://www.comscore.com/press/pr.asp

Other than that you may find ESTIMATED traffic info at:
http://www.alexa.com
http://www.trafficranking.com/

BUT there traffic ranking are ESTIMATED traffic related only to the
users that have their toolbar installed. If you install their toolbar
your traffic will increase soon after. Although it's not the real
data, you still can use to have a feeling of how one website is
ranked.
