Howdy palms-ga,

It might help researchers if they knew the type of business you are looking
to start. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't mention the type of business .... it is a Personal
Assistant/Organizer, hired on a daily basis.

Dear Palms,

Running a business that involves your personal
services, it won't help you to incorporate.
In other words, a corporation won't protect you if
you offer bad advice, or something you do causes someone
to lose money or to be harmed.

However, business liability insurance will protect you.

Once of the best, and least expensive policies I have
found, over the years, is from Safeco. Give them a
call and ask them about their business policy.
http://www.safeco.com/safeco/for_your_business/business_insurance/default.asp

It not only provides a million dollar liability protection,
it provides loss of income coverage, theft, fire and lots
of other nice surprises. And it covers multiple locations
if you open an office AND work from home. It also covers
loss of data, destruction of records and...it's cheap.

I am in California and I have coverage from them. So you
should have no problem.

Best wishes,

Your TaxMama-ga
