Question ID: 609266
How can I make my Nintendo DS display on a television?

Information:
The game I am wanting to play (Animal Crossing) does not require the
stylus, so that should not be prohibiting.
Some television shows that review Nintendo DS games use some method
for video out on the show, and I would like to buy whatever products
they may use for this purpose.

If it can only be displayed to a computer, that is fine too.

I located several hacks to put the GBA on a video screen and two ways
to connect keyboards to the DS.

Would any of that be useful? (I suspect the GBA hack could be adapted
if you are a soldering-iron hacker, but no guarantees.)

I doubt any soldering hack would work for my needs.
Since the DS has two screens, combining both to be displayed on the TV
simultaneously would probably not be possible with a soldering hack.

Are you sure they are not just taking a close up of the screen? An LCD
screen such as the DS would not flicker and under proper lighting
would look ok on TV. The DS does not have a video out.

Some shows MAY have patched together a type of specialized 'cone' such
as the one that is for sale for the PSP
see link here: http://www.lik-sang.com/image.php?category=365&products_id=8369&img=psp-to-tv-blaze

But there is not one for the DS.

At first I thought that must be what they have done, but later
realized that for the DS it would be an impossible solution.

The shows (such as XPlay on G4) review games that use the stylus. The
effects of the stylus are easily seen but the stylus itself is not.
This would rule out any technique that actually blocked access to the
lower screen.

This would be very complex indeed. Nintendo did make a few DSs capable
out outputting to TV, around 10 I beleive. But getting your hands on
one would probably be close to impossible.

To be totally honest with your I have seen the the psp to tv and there
both made by the same company, and it was not worth how much it cost
it is basely a small camera with a plastic cover on it. Im sorry to
say that i bought the psp to tv and regret is all I have. Hope this
helps you
