I was cleaning out a cabinet and came across many old / antique liquor bottles that are at least 20 to 30 years old, some older and most and full and sealed and in the original boxes. I will describe some of them. I am looking for the best way to sell them and an idea of how much they are worth. Ideally, I would like to be put in contact with a collector who is interested in buying them as opposed to listing each nand every one on ebay. I can send photos to anyone who is interested. two seagram 7 750 ml sealed whiskey bottles that are embossed in the original christmas boxes one sealed Ballantines quart schotch bottle in the original gold box several jim beam whiskeys in the christmas boxes iw harper bottle canadian mist sealed bottle in original box sealed Saronno bottle and many others. Let me know what I should do or if I should just dump them. I will provide a nice tip if you hook me up with someone who buys them. |

Well, Merry Christmas! Don't "dump" them unless you and all your friends are teetotalers. |

Whoops! I hit the tab key and posted that before I had really started. The whiskey/whisky is still very drinkable, and there may well be people that collect old bottles and original cartons. Of course, many collectors are only interested in single malt whiskys and really old bottlings and unusual bottles. I can't guide you to potential buyers but would suggest an ad in your local or nearest major newspaper (and I don't know what tax or licensing problems could be involved for selling several bottles). At worst - or best - you could give them away. |

In general, bottles need to be a lot more than 30 years old to have significant value. Yours may well be worth something (especially the full, sealed ones) to the right person, but I'd be surprised if they're worth very much. One thing you can do is to do some searches on eBay, and if anyone is selling similar bottles, you can see what people are bidding for them (be sure to check the completed auctions as well as current auctions). |
