Unfortunately I have only a vague recollection of this skit, but I think it was an SNL skit that featured David Alan Grier (he would have been hosting) as a bandleader from the first half of the 20th century (It may have been another black comedian but I'm 80% sure it was David Alan Grier). I believe the premise of the skit was that he was an Uncle Tom in terms of the lyrics that he sang with his band, and they ended the skit with a historical footnote along the lines of "only black person to ever be lynched by other black people". Can you find me the transcript of this skit? Thanks | |

unclejimbo, Your question is fully open to other Researchers. I unlocked it, since I could not find the transcript that you want. The "Needs Attention" notice just meant that an acknowledgment of my previous message was sought by the system. Every time a "Request for Question Clarification" is sent by a Researcher, you'll get an automatic "Needs Attention" thingie, even if no actual question was being asked by the Researcher. The only reason I posted my previous remark as a "Request for Question Clarification" was so that you'd be sure to see it. When information is posted in the "Comments" section (as I am doing now), customers who have opted not to be notified of comments sometimes don't see the remarks. I hope somebody can turn up your transcript. That was a very funny skit, and I'd like to see the transcript myself! Best regards, pinkfreud |
