Laptop be able to drive the the Dell 2005FPW monitor at it's native

When I say "dual-screen configuration, I mean the the laptops own
screen will be screen #1, and the Dell monitor will be connected to
the laptops external monitor VGA port.

It should work, a way to check is to run a game or other application
that can change the resolution, and if you can go higher than the
resolution of the Dell monitor, than it probably will work.
