Question ID: 609704
Is there a source that will allow me to enter the ISBN number (or
Author and Title, etc. ) of a college textbook and will return a list
of schools that require it for the next quarter or semester.

I do not want just a list of links to school web sites, newsgroups,
etc., but a specific list; For example: "ISBN # 07668-26848 is
required at Ohio State University, Harvard, Podunk U. next term".

The more detail in the list the better. For example: 1)including all
the books required by a specific college; 2) indicating that the book
may not be required next term but is required in a future term; 3)
indicating that the book is required for a multiple term course that
starts in the fall; etc.

While the above details would be great, I will be content with an
answer to the question stated at the start as long as it satisfies my
list of things I do not want.

My reason for the question is probably obvious - I have some textbooks
to sell and would like to figure out the best time. If a school
requires a book next semester I may list it. If it is not required
until next fall I may wait.

Thank you for your time,
Jim Daly

Some note that may help.

I was a college professor for several years. In a typical year, I
would receive 10 textbooks in computer science and organic chemistry.
I averaged about 3 to 5 dollars for books in new condition.

Typical the schools I worked for gave a pittance for used books that
were to be used the next quarter or year.

However, there are bookbuying companies that makes the rounds and buy
books in new condition.

If you are going to try to sell used books, I would suggest ebay,
unless you have a very large volume.

Good Luck...
