Dear Jaybird,
I assume your son is a minor, because else it would be beyond your
authority to request it.
I am not sure why you would like to remove these results, but terms
come up on search engines because they are on sites publishing this
information, and allowing search engines to scan through them.
Your only way to prevent your son's name from coming up in search
engines is to address each of the sites where it is published, and ask
them:
(1) Either, to remove the name altogether;
(2) Or, to prevent search engines from going through the page, where
the name is mentioned.
In the first way, the name is eliminated from the web (it might take
time; because search engines, like Google for example, save a version
of a page for a certain time, before they go through it again).
In the second, the name is still there, but search engines cannot
search it. They must use a code that would prevent the robot from
scanning the site (See: ?How do I prevent robots scanning my site??
http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/faq.html#prevent ).
In both ways, delisting your son?s name depends upon the agreement of
the site?s webmaster to remove it. On their behalf, they might claim
that the freedom of speech allows them to publish your son?s name in
relevant context (or to leave his name after being published).
I hope this answers your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarification on this answer before you rate it. |
