servers for the Internet. They also provide some other services, like
domain hosting, DNS service, etc.

In order to have your own presence on the internet, you will need two

1) A domiain name, the unique '.com' that identifies you. This is
available from, as well as other, less costly options,

2) Somewhere to host the information (content) that will be available
at your domain name. This is the ISP or hosting provider.
Additionally, you will need them to provide DNS (Domain Name Service)
for you so that people typing in your domain name will be directed to
the server that holds your information. My personal preference is . They offer basic domain hosting for as little
as $5.00 per month. They also offer many other services, including
e-commerce hosting, secure hosting and more.
