audio tape is fine, does not have to be a video or kinescope.

I should have listed these separately - I am looking for either one or both.

chandler75-ga,
You're asking for two very obscure items. The odds of finding one are
slim. The odds of coming up with both are...well...you get the
picture, I'm sure.
Do you want to pay a researcher to make their best effort to track
these down, even if one -- or both -- are unavailable?
If not, please clarify what you would find acceptable as an answer,
given the very slim likelihood that both shows are available.
Thanks,

Ooops. Our messages crossed in cyberspace. Your "one or both"
criteria makes this a lot more manageable.
Next question...if we find either item in a library collection, would
that serve as an answer?
Thanks again,

For further clarification, I am paying to have either one or both of
them tracked down. I realize I should have listed this as two
separate questions. I will do that if someone will explain to me how,
since I've paid to post this question and can't delete anything from
it.

Obviously I would rather have something that I could purchase or have
a copy made of, even if it's just an audiotpae, but if all there is
available is in a library collection, I'll take it for either one.

chandler75-ga,
Thanks for the update...I'm on the case.
Just to check, these are the listings I found for the two shows in question:
==========
12/20/57
10:30-11 - Person to Person: Edward R. Murrow visits Tyrone Power in
his New York apartment; Basil O'Connor, president of National
Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, in Warm Springs, Ga. (2)
April 2, 1958
11:15-1-Jack Paar Show: With guests, Betty Johnson, Jack Douglas, the
Baird Puppets, and others (4).
==========
Do those look right to you?

Yes, I just looked, the Jack Paar one SHOULD have Tyrone Power as a
guest, according to my records. That is the date. And the Edward R.
Murrow is the one as well. Thanks.

Just to be clear, it's the *Murrow* show with Tyrone Powers -- even
though you said Paar had Tyrone Powers -- but it sounds like these
are the right ones, just the same.
If you find out otherwise, let me know.

Yes, but the Paar show is supposed to have Tyrone Power on it, too.
The listing says "and others." I would hardly think he would be
lumped in with "and others" but that is the date I have for his
appearance.

chandler75-ga,
Two things:
1. I do not see any reference to a Jack Paar show with Tyrone Power
as a guest. I'm still looking for a copy of the 4/2/58 broadcast, but
I don't think Power appears in it.
2. There are many other sources of film on Tyrone Power -- newsreels,
movie trailers, and so on. Here's one, for instance:
=====
Date: 10/13/1947
TYRONE POWER IN SOUTH AFRICA - Huge crowds surrounded Tyrone Power
during his visit to South Africa.
SHOT_LIST : Cut for foreign reels: GV Plane taxis across aerodrome.
Tyrone Power alights, surrounded by crowds. Various shots of him
driving thru city in open car. Large crowds, dense crowds surge round
his car, making it almost impossible for him to pass. CU Tyrone Power
on balcony waves to crowd and holds cigarette in other hand.
=====
Are these of interest at all?

No, I need interview material. My reference says: The Tonight Show
with Jack Paar, NBC, April 2, 1958. I'll doublecheck with someone
else, but that's it as far as I know. Thanks.

The date given for Tyrone Power on Jack Paar is April 2, 1958, but I
have no way of knowing if that's correct. So if he's not listed, I'm
assuming he didn't appear on that date.
