Well, of course. Pontiac chose some names related to places associated with car racing and "spiffy" places: LeMans, Bonneville, Parisienne, Ventura. Catalina fits the mold, and apparently, from what I found, Catalina convertibles were popular - at least among those those who still have them, appropriate to S. Cal. |

Cataline is a female name, and is a form of the Greek name Catherine meaning pure. |
