Probably Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of California.

Well, of course. Pontiac chose some names related to places
associated with car racing and "spiffy" places: LeMans, Bonneville,
Parisienne, Ventura. Catalina fits the mold, and apparently, from
what I found, Catalina convertibles were popular - at least among
those those who still have them, appropriate to S. Cal.

Cataline is a female name, and is a form of the Greek name Catherine meaning pure.
