I have a Compac Evo N1020v. It was infected with a virus that flashed the BIOS. The computer will now not boot from the CD ROM, Floppy or harddisk. I have disconnected the clock battery in the hopes of resetting the BIOS to its original state but that had no effect. How can I reset or reinstall the BIOS so that it will work as before without replacing the motherboard and without spending more than US$50 in special equipment? |

The reset of a BIOS only resets the parameters. You'll have to flash it again with a correct BIOS-version, that you'll probably find on the manufacturer's homepage. |
