What Fountains of Wayne song appeared in The X-Files in either season
six or seven? I'm pretty sure it was seven, and the song was one of
their faster paced numbers.

I haven't found any mention of a Fountains of Wayne song that was used
in "The X-Files."

Is there a chance that you're remembering "Only Happy When It Rains,"
performed by Garbage, which was in the episode "Terms of Endearment,"
in Season 6?

no, definitely not from Garbage. I've been netflixing the whole
series and I just remembered from a week ago a song I heard from (most
likely) seven that was almost certainly Fountains of Wayne. Could it
be another similar band?

I know there was a song by Aussie singers Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue
featured in the X-Files (used to be a Phile myself!) called "Where the
wild roses grow.." but it wasn't a fast one...

Why not try posting on a X-Files fan site? Those X-Files fans know so
much small useless trivia about the show that someone is BOUND to be
able to answer you...
