I would like to get a pc running linux. I just need something basic but reliable and don't want to pay too much or deal with hardware that doesn't quite work with linux. Please provide a list of several reputable sellers. |

Are in US and are willing to buy nationally? Easiest, and cheapest source is Wallmart: http://www.mirabilis.ca/linux/buy-linux-computer.html http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS7710891606.html http://www.technologynewsdaily.com/node/951 Chances are that your local computer shop will install Linux for you when you buy the hardware on your choice of hardware: IBM, HP, Dell .. http://news.zdnet.com/2110-1040_22-5869094.html Here are few international sites: http://www.linuxhq.com/vendors/systems.html | |

Yeah, compatible hardware is VERY important ... I have a P4 and GLLY board. My frontech internal dial-up modem did not work when I installed SuSE 8.2 and I returned back to Windows ... |
