This is strictly an individual U.S. federal income tax question.

Suppose you own 100 shares of stock which shows a short-term
unrealized loss.

If you sell the stock and simultaneously sell short 1 or 2 Put
option contracts or buy 1 or 2 Call options on the same stock.

Will either transaction trigger the Wash Sale Rule preventing 
the loss from being claimed as a Short-Term Loss in the tax return?
