I have two related questions:

How is the venue for the superbowl chosen?

Is there a mechanism that prevents a team playing in the superbowl
from having home field advantage, and if so how does that mechanism
work?

That looks like a great answer to me.

The only vague area is what might prevent a team from having home
field advantage at the Super Bowl. The text of your referal seems to
imply there is no such prevention in place, and it is only chance that
has to date prevented a superbowl competitor from playing at home. If
that is definitively correct, then my question has been answered.

Thank you.

After further research, I have found no indication that there is a
mechanism that prevents a team playing in the Superbowl from having
home field advantage.

Does this answer your question sufficiently?

Cities must provide guaranteed revenues, organizing committees,
