I'm looking for a travel insurance for a man 66 years old, with a heart condition, althoug stable. He's taking medicines also for diabetes (non insulin-dependant), also stable. He lives in Argentina and wants to travel to Switzerland for about 2 months. So far, I've found the following advert (I think that it's for the UK only, I have not called them up). http://topquoteinsurance.co.uk/travel.htm#PC "People with pre?existing illnesses or conditions. Pre-existing conditions? Had difficulty in obtaining cover? Had a serious illness and wish to travel abroad? Ring us on 08700 114340 and we'll obtain a quotation for you." |

Greetings Tateti, Did you notice that that site specifies European Union residents? IF the person has a health insurance policy in Argentina, perhaps it can cover travel abroad for an additional premium - or even just for advice of the travel. In Europe with private health insurance one can get a chip card that allows one to charge major health expenses. Here is the first site I found: http://www.specialtyrisk.com/travel_medical.htm If you click on HTML you will get a schedule of coverage and cost. I haven't looked at possible add-ons for pre-existing conditions. Here is another site that I did not open further: http://www.seguros-insurance.net/seguros-english/ Here is a more general site with "advice" that you can click on. http://www.articleinsider.com/article/126090 Probably somewhere it will tell you to read the fine print very carefully, and of course, with any health insurance, one must be sure not to hide any pre-existing conditions. I wouldn't go for the cheapest but rather for the insurer with the better reputation (if one can find some information about response to claims, etc.). Germany is not Argentina, but here I can get repatriation cover from either of the two non-profit organizations that my wife donates to: St Johns, and the Maltese Cross (both religion oriented help organizations). Our auto club also provides such. I hope this is just a start of further suggestions. Regards, Myoarin |
