Hi, timespacette.

My sister has a Ph.D in geology from the University of Hawaii, with a
specialty in vulcanology. I've emailed her to see whether she can
offer any suggestions.

Woah crazy resources freud! I know it might not be the detail you are
wanting but Google Earth actually has really good imagery of ocean
floor around the globe... earth.google.com plus its just a ton of
fun to play with!

Hi Pink,

it would be great to hear more about this; your sister sounds like as
good a source as any. But please post it as an answer so you can pass
go and collect your cash, as minimal as it might be . . .

cheers,

timespacette,

My sister is currently so wrapped up in other matters that she hasn't
responded to my email. If I hear from her, I'll post something. In the
meantime, I hope other Google Answers Researchers may be interested in
taking this on.

Do a Google search on 'hawaii bathymetry', and you'll get a bunch of
hits. For instance, have a look at:

and many more.
