It's possible that your anonymizing proxy is using an IP from your area.

The proxy says "Spain", I live in Minnesota.

Have you checked the proxy's IP in a geographical locator, like this one?

Apparently based on comments on other sites, adult friend finder uses
the same pictures for different names of people in different cities.

Notice two of the three women are in two places with two names:

It is likely you have previously visited a site that used a cookie or
"web-bug" to store information about the IP you were using at the time
and then it just retrieved the cookie instead of doing a IP location
lookup.
Are you using this proxy long?
Try clearing out your cookies and re-visiting the site.

I hate it when that happens to me. Adds on websites say the actual
town I live in, not the one where
http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm or any other IP lookup website
says I am. It is so wierd. I have no clue how they know where we
live and I dont like it.

I suggest that you get a new IP but that probably wont do anything to
foil the websites. I cant really offer advice, I can just say that it
also happens to me.

It could be a cookie from when the proxy was turned off?

I use a little app called onspeed to speed up my dsl. It can be found
at www.onspeed.com. Granted it has relitively nothing to do with
hidding your identity, whenever I come across one of those things that
say where your from, mine alwasy think im from london or some other
place in England. I've been using this app for a while now and it
actually took me a while to figure out why all the sites and adds
thought I was in England. It does cost $49.99 for a year license
which may be a deterent seeing as how the main purpose of the app
isn't even what you're looking for, but I thought I would share it.
