My site, valetc.com, used to show up (fairly) high (first 2-3 pages)
on Google when searching on the following:

Learning and the Brain
Science Inquiry Training

Educational Systems Design
School Facilities Planning

Dear Rvaliant -

First off you link popularity is fairly good as a blanket
statistic. You have 64 hits which would normally put you somewhere on
Page 2 of a list if link popularity was the only game in town.
Unfortunately it is not. I have reviewed the source code for you site
and there a couple things that should help you in getting a higher
rating. First off, the 5 search items you listed above are not
within your meta tag keywords. Get them there if you believe this is
what people are searching on. You might also enter some other valid
keywords such as school, education, training, learning, brain based
learning, education systems, etc. Your keywords do not seem to match
your site at all. Remember also that each page has its own set of
meta tags as well. So they would need to be revised throughout. You
should try to keep up today with what people are searching on. There
are many useful keyword generators on the web to help you. Some of
them charge but I prefer the free services myself.

Also I highly recommend that you put a meta tag for revisits.
This instructs the search engine or web spider, crawler to come back
to your site in a given period of time. Thus refreshing your
keywords. This will be very usefull in tweaking your words to get
just the right mix so that people come to your site. Below is a
sample meta tag from my site.
META NAME="REVISIT-AFTER" CONTENT="4 days">

Last but not least if you can list your site with sites that are
related, such as other learning sites, you will gain in ranking due to
an association of keywords rather than just links.
