Can anyone tell me (a) what are the things used by many soccer players
(especially the women in the recent under-19 FIFA world championship)
to hold back long hair and (b) where can I get one in Toronto, Canada?

It would be very helpful if you could give us a link to an online
photo that shows exactly the type of headband you want.

Thanks for the link to the photo. It should be quite helpful. One more
question: is the headband you seek the band that is right behind the
player's ears, or the one high on her head that is holding her
ponytail?

in the image you provided it looks as if she is using the same thing
my little sister use to use! I don't know if it's still popular.. (it
was a couple of years ago) The girls use to take "pre-wrap" a (foam
wrap that trainers put on before tape) and wrap their upper thigh a
couple of times... they would then roll the wrap down their leg
accomplishing a tightly wound circle! I don't know how it managed to
work but it always seemed to be the right size to fit over her head
and then to be brought back up to the position shown in the picture!!

cheers!
