Where can I find examples of keynote speeches given during a Medical Students Oath ceremony (at the ceremony for their Oath of Maimonides or for their Oath of Hippocrates). I am NOT interested in the Oath itself or in any prayer given at the ceremony. Thank you |

I could only find full examples of two speeches, but I think they should give you a good idea of what to expect: Dr. David Byrd, Hippocratic Oath Ceremony, University of Washington, 2000: http://www.washington.edu/medical/som/students/byrd_speech.html Chancellor Charles E. Young, Hippocratic Oath Ceremony, UCLA, 1997: http://www.ucla.edu/chancellor/pastleaders/oath.html In addition, it might be useful to contact the School of Medicine of a University that you feel resonance with. They may have records of the speeches and be willing to fax you copies. I hope this is enough information for you. Search terms used: hippocratic "oath ceremony" speech, and many other unsuccessfuls. |
