The U.S. Department of Education compiles the data that you seek and
publishes it as the "Digest of Education Statistics."

According to the 2001 Digest, the Computer & Information Sciences
graduates in 1999-2000 were as follows:

Bachelor's: 36,195

The CRA (Computer Research Association) also tracks this yearly by
surveying all the CS research universities.  The numbers are widely
different from the Deptartment of Education which I'm guessing is due
to a wider range of degrees making up "Computer & Information
Sciences" and also a high number of non-research universities/colleges
granting undergraduate CS degrees.

These numbers were calculated from the 2002 report with the following
formula:
US CS = (Total - Canadian - US CE)

Bachelor's: 12,302
