So, the painters removed the wall sconces from my hallway, spray
painted the house, and left the sconces down. That's okay, I was
planning on replacing them. I purchased new fixtures, and went to
install them today. I did one in a small hallway, all was well.

I came to the bigger hallway, and this isn't working too well. First,
both lights are controlled by the same switch. There are 2 switches
though, one by the garage, and one by a bedroom. If you turn either of
the switches on or off, both lights will turn on or off. I do not
remember if the switches were installed so that when they were both in
the down position, the lights were off, or if one was up and one was
down in order for them to be on or off. Get what I mean?

Here's the thing. One of the lights, the junction box, looks normal.
One black, one white, one ground. The other junction box has one 2 of
each. and a ground. I guess this is to complete the circuit to the
other light.

I don't know how to connect these lights to this area. I would think
that the one with just the one black and one white goes on normal,
white to white, black to black, wire screws, ground to ground on the
nut on the bracket.

What do i do to the other one, with the 4 wires???

The only circuit tester I have is the kind that plugs into an outlet,
not the kind with the prongs.

Thanks for your help!

I figured it out! Just wired all the blacks together, and all of the
whites together. Figured that way, the circuit would be complete.

Thanks!
