I need an 2 or 3 example images that highlight the gamma differences
between Mac and windows. I need these to show my students why it is
so important to check web graphics created on a Mac that will be
displayed on PCs.

Hi sherpaj-ga:

Thanks for the interesting question!

Since you are obviously knowledgable about *why* these gamma
differences occur (heck, you're teaching others about them), I won't
go into the reasons for these annoying color differences in pictures
on Macs and PCs. :-)

I was able to find several illustrative examples of the gamma
difference. Each of these images come on pages that might also have
some interesting technical/theoretical information you might want to
build into your teachings (depending on how advanced your students
are).

1. From Computer Graphics Systems Development Corp.

Description: A very nice comparison of a portrait shot.

2. Also from Computer Graphics Systems Development Corp.

of systems, including Mac and PC.

4. From Kanisa Solution

Description: A single gif file that nicely shows that "washed-out"
effect.

Description: Not as explicit in the text, but a nice visual
comparison nonetheless.

I hope these examples help you out in your class! Please let me
know if you need any clarification of this answer before you
rate it.

Thanks.
