I want to know the title and artist of a pop song I
recorded from Swedish radio in 1995. The song is a
rather up-tempo pop song with a male singer.
I think the band might be from Sweden, but I'm not
sure of this.
The lyrics goes like:
"When The Spring Is In The Air,
I Wanna Take You Everywhere,
You'll Be Feeling Fine,
This Is Gonna Be Our Summertime,
We'll Be Out There On The Run,
We'll Be Playing In The Sun,
You'll Be Feeling Fine,
Oh, This Is Gonna Be Our Summertime,
(chorus)
On A Sunny Day, Ah Ah Ah Ah,
On A Sunny Day, You Will Hear Me Say,
Love Will Come Our Way, Ah Ah Ah Ah,
So Come On Let's Sway, On A Sunny Day"

I have tried searching for it with no success, but
I'm hoping that some of you might remember this song.
I would also like to know where, if possible, I can
find this song on CD.

I have created a small sound clip of the song that might
help trigger the memory of someone who have heard it.
It can be accessed at (it will be removed as soon as my
question is answered):

Please do not use this file for any other purpose than helping
me identify the song.

I thought I would provide some additional information that might
be of help. I am pretty sure that the radio station where I heard
the song was East FM 106.5 in Norrköping, Sweden (this station was
later (1997) merged with another and changed its name to Radio
Match). I only heard the song there a few times, the first maybe
in 1994. It is possible that the song is older, even from the '80s,
though my own guess is 1994-1995.
Perhaps my best bet would be to check with the radio station if
they have some old playlists?

I thought I might have a lead with Book of Love's old pop song "Sunny
Day," but it does not sound like your clip. Thank you for giving us
the link to that audio file! It is always great to have some extra
clues. Actually hearing the song should be a big help.

I've emailed a Swedish friend who is fond of the music of the '80s and
'90s. Perhaps he'll remember this bouncy tune.

The style sound slike one of these Grand Prix (Eurovision) songs. I'd
try with Eurovisionists.

politicalguru,
Thanks for trying to help, but I know for sure that the song was not
a Eurovision entry. I have watched that event on television since the
'80s and have listings on all the songs that appeared there.

I tried your clip with Shazam (www.shazam.com), an astounding service
that recognises songs via a mobile phone. It works on most of my
record collection, including some obsure stuff and imports.

However, I'm afraid that it didn't recognise your tune, although this
may be down the the relatively low bitrate you used giving a poor
sound quality, and the fact that I only played it back via my PC
speakers.

If you are in the UK, you could try it yourself with the original
otherwise post a higher (eg 128Kbit) sample, and I'll try it again
using some better speakers. (Shazam is only available in the UK at the
moment). You never know, it might work...

PS in case you were wondering, I don't work for Shazam!

musican,
Thanks for your help!
I have created a higher quality (but shorter) clip available at
http://w1.136.telia.com/~u13605314/sunny_day_hq.mp3
I had never heard of Shazam before and if it works as well as
you say it really is amazing. Unfortunately, I live in Sweden
so I guess I will have to wait quite a while before the
service is available here.
I doubt that the higher quality helps, because the GSM mobile
phone system provides a much lower fidelity than my original
clip, but hopefully I'm wrong...

Musiclover,

Thanks for the new clip; I tried it again on ny hifi, but no joy. I
wasn't really expecting it to wark (I agree with your comment), but it
was worth a try - I dont know how Shazam works, so don't know the
possible impact of MP3 coding on its operation.

What we may be able to deduce from the failure is that it is not a
track currently available on a CD in the UK, as Shazam claim to have
1.5 million tracks in their database, linked to all the main CD
ordering companies (Amazon etc). But then again, if it was available
probably someone whould have recognised it by now!

Good luck with your searching...
