I am looking for info on what I think was a football game, South
Florida vs. Betsy Layne. The final score was S.F.84 to 42 for B.L. I
think this was high school, but don't know for sure. The most
important part is did the game end before midnight and was there a
clock running during the game???

I'm afraid you are going to have to be a bit more specific about what
you are looking for. When was this game you want to know about? What
part of the world?

There is a Betsy Layne High School in Kentucky. I didn't find a South
Florida High School in Kentucky, but I did find a South Floyd. The
score you mentioned looks far too high to be a football score and is
probably a basketball score. South Floyd and Betsy Layne do play each
other in basketball twice a year, but none of their boys' games over
the past three years and none of their girls' games in 2001-02 ended
in a 84-42 score.

It would be quite rare for a high school basketball game to end after
midnight. I don't know what you mean by a "clock running during the
game." Are you asking if the gym where the game took place has a clock
that marks the current time? I think most high school gyms have
clocks, since they hold gym classes there. Anyway, of all the people
watching the game, I'm sure someone had a watch. If you are asking
whether basketball games are timed, then yes, basketball games are
timed (as are football games). High school basketball games usually
have four 8-minute quarters. The clock stops on certain plays and for
timeouts.
