Ok guys, I got a real challenge for ya. If you can find this, you can
find anything, cuz let me tell you, it’s not gonna be easy. Ok, here’s
the deal, I’m looking for a special edition of the movie The Matrix,
DVD, boxed set. This is the Signature Edition, which was signed by the
guys who made it. Now if you go to “www.creativedesignart.com“,
Which is the company that makes it, and go to Signature Series, they
have it. Problem is, they’re sold out of it, and Ebay and Amazon.com
don’t have any either. So what I’d like answered is, could you see if
you can find it up for sale anywhere on the net and tell me the
website where you found it for auction/sale?

I'd be happy to answer the question, as LetterRip has suggested in his
Sept. 12 comment. As part of my work on the answer, I could search
just a little bit more, in case there is a better source for the
Signature Edition. Of course, I can't promise anything better, but I
could give it a try.

What do you think?

I suppose that you won't be surprised to learn that, even after
additional searching, I did not find anything better than CDNOW. In
addition to eBay and Amazon, I checked Barnes & Noble, Tower,
Blockbuster, Yahoo! Auctions, Yahoo! Shopping Used DVDs & Videos,
Videoflicks.com, and Facets.org. And, of course, I tried a lot of
searches on Google. Nothing else came up.

So the best option appears to be CDNOW:

"Matrix Signed (By Wachowski Bros.) Limited Edition Box Set"
CDNOW
http://cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1648758313/pagename=/RP/MOVIES/mv_item.html/itemid=1434501

If you click on "Add to Cart", you'll see the message, "Backorder:
Product usually ships in 10 to 15 days." Somehow, I doubt that it
really will ship in 10 to 15 days, or ever, since, as you noted,
Creative Design Art is itself sold out.

You might as well order it anyway, and see what happens.

You also might try searching for "used DVDs" (or used "DVD", "videos",
or "video") on Google, Google Directory, and Yahoo!, and then examine
every reputable-looking site that comes up, until you get tired of
looking. Maybe, by a miracle, something will turn up. (I tried a few
of those sites as well, without success.)

Also, you should check back with eBay and Yahoo! Auctions. On any
given day, the item you want could show up.

And finally, you can try using the same keywords I've tried in other
search engines.

Right, that’s about what I thought. I mean, I know you guys are good
at finding rare info, but, I guess not so superhuman as to find stuff
that isn’t there. Thanks for your time anyway, tho, I’ll just keep
looking.

Good luck in your search. If I happen to get any new ideas or see any
good leads, I'll post them as a follow-up.

Letterrip -

CDNOW was the best lead I found as well. However, if you try to buy
this item, the message you get is "Backorder: Product usually ships in
10 to 15 days." "Usually" is usually an optimistic word when it comes
to out-of-print items such as DVDs. So I'm doubtful that this answers
the question.

Ah, thank you very much Letterrip. Yes, I am still interested in the
other (transplant) thing, and I would very much like the information
of that contact or whatever, I’m afraid I didn’t really understand
quite what you were saying, but I’d like any more info you have on it.
As for the Matrix thing, thank you for that too. However, since it
does say “backorder, I don’t know if they will actually have it, but I
hope.

Emperoroftheuniverse -

OK, I'll give it my best shot.

I don't have sufficient time tonight, and I'm not sure yet about
tomorrow. But I should be able to work on it some time during the
weekend.

Excuse me, but could you please give me the email of that contact for
the transplant thing, I’m afraid I lost it the last time. I’m terrible
sorry to trouble you about it again, and thank you from the bottom of
my heart for all your help.
