After a few quck searches of the Yahoo! yellow pages, all the beauty
portals, infousa.com and even a call to NYC information who searched
all 5 boroughs, I could not locate this company.

Is there perhaps some other information on the label you could
provide?

There is a book by that exact same title, 

Title:  The Art of Makeup 
Author(s):  Kevyn Aucoin 
Publisher:  HarperCollins 
Release Date:  12/01/1995 
Available formats:  Paperback (ISBN: 0062730428) 
Number of pages:  176 

Harper Collins is the publisher and is actually located in NY, same zip code.
Is it possible that it's a book, not a make-up brand?

Like the people who requested for clarification, I think you are
mistaken about "The Art of Makeup Inc". I don't think this is a
company because I couldn't find any information about it.

What I did find was information about the book that's called "The Art
of Makeup", written by Kevyn Aucoin.

Dear friends,

It's certainly not the book with the same title.
I actually bought the skin care products over the counter (for over
$1000) from one of the retail outlets here with the label stated as
made in US with that address.

Wonder it could be a misrepresentation of the products or consumers
could be mislead?

I just want to confirm it's there such a company register in US, NY.

Hi, Joni. Do you think you could provide information about the
products purchased? As seems obvious, "The Art of Makeup" is difficult
to search for because, as a phrase, it's frequently used (searching on
Google for "art of makeup" -aucoin turns up more than 600 hits). The
name of the product(s) purchased would be a huge help.

Aside from the mentions of the book by Kevyn Aucoin, mentioned above
by Frank and Skis4jc, I've only been able to come up with the
following companies using that name:

Oriental Princess, based in Thailand, has a line of products marketed
as "The Art of Makeup," including two color palettes, "Beneficial" and
"Ideal"

Toon Studio, in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA, also uses the name
"The Art of Makeup" for its product line. Though the Web site uses the
"Toon" name more heavily (after founder and Hollywood makeup artist
