Hello, my query is simply that I have lost the facility to Ctrl+Enter
key which tops and tails the url when you type it in the address box
in IE6. It worked fine in XP until some weeks ago it just stopped! Any
ideas?

Hi!

I wondering: do the other Ctrl+Key hot keys work in IE6? Or is it only
Ctrl+Enter that does not work?

Best Regards,

Microsoft products seem to be notorious for elements to cease working
for no apparent reason. Reinstall the program, this usually fixes most
problems like yours. Good luck.

Also, be sure you are typing your domain word in the *address* bar.
If you use CTRL+O to open a new site, type "google", and press
CTRL+ENTER, it won't work. You HAVE to use the address bar at the
top.

If you are indeed using the addres bar, you may need to do a "detect &
repair." Go to control panel, add/remove programs, select IE6 and you
will be presented with the boxes, one of them is "detect & repair."
Select it, let it do it's thing and you should be good.

And of course if this fails, you can always try a good uninstall,
reboot, reinstall.

No need to re-install the o/s. Just do a system restore back to when
it was working. You probably added an application which has altered
the function.

are you sure you have not installed one of those programs that
overwrite the default search engines and also re-route all ur download
thru to their own sever?

if that is the case you'll need to find the program and its uninstall
feature [which by the way is never included with it]. eg. LOP.com

at the worst case scenario, you might have to do some registry edits
to restore that ctrl+enter capability.

if this is the case and u have such a program installed, re-installing
XP or the browser will make no difference since IE6 will not override
such settings.

u might want to take a look here:
