I would like to know how quickly the use of XML is penetrating the
enterprise (not telecom) system management space. I know about CIM-XML
and WBEM, and everyone who has a platform (Tivoli, Openview etc) has
XML somewhere in their strategy. But I am trying to get a sense of if
the component vendors are actually providing support for observing the
state of the components (through traps and polls or otherwise) in XML.
Or are any people building adapters to these systems doing so
indirectly. Also it would be interesting to know which of the bigger
system management players have XML as a core and real component of
their story.
